Walk Connecticut

General Information About Walk Connecticut Outings

Walks are postponed for extreme weather (thunderstorms, heatwave, high winds, etc.) but not for rain.

Unless noted otherwise, all walks require ability to handle uneven terrain. Participants are responsible for their own comfort and safety. Bring water and wear comfortable shoes. Open-toed sandals are not advised.

We are walking where I and other people live. Visitors are expected to show respect toward residents and to the land.

PAST WALKS

  • Mystical Grotto: 3.5 miles. We will start and end by the nature sign near the pond in Pope Park ( 41.757894, -72.697021 ). There will be the option to stop at a food hall on the last mile of the route. Part of the walk may be through tall grass and/or mushy ground — this is not the day to wear your Sunday Best. This is a slow, social walk with information sprinkled in, rather than a formal tour. Sunday, August 1, 2021.
