The annual Spring Flower Show at Elizabeth Park has begun! It runs through March 18th from 9:30-3 and offers a lovely view to go along with a warmer environment. This is free. The only disadvantage is its popularity. You might have to find an odd time to visit so as to not be crowded out by photographers. This is located in the greenhouse at Elizabeth Park.
This Friday the Knox Parks Foundation is having an Urban Greenhouse Party. It will be held at 75 Laurel Street from 6-10pm and tickets run at $20 a pop. Admission will get you music, free beer and wine, and the joy of supporting “Hartford’s environmental care.”
On March 19th Hartford.com will be sponsoring a Pool Party at the Hilton. This is a 21+ event (no kids, woo hoo!) which will include “Sharpie tramp stamp or a tribal tattoo […] these tattoos give you all the shame without the permanence of a spring break decision.” The pool will be open for only Spring Breakers that evening and they promise to turn the lights down low…a plus for those of us quite far from 21.
