Zula Bar & Restaurant, on the corner of Main and Pratt, has recently opened. Their menu includes pasta, steak, and “stone pies.” They also have the sense to be open in the early afternoon on a Saturday when people were heading to the Civic Center to watch a basketball game.
For a few years, this space has been under construction. You may remember seeing some kind of structure being built on top of this, and then, seeing it unceremoniously removed.

We had a drink and a bite to eat at Zula this evening…nice atmosphere, friendly and attentive service, food was fine. BUT…..The martini I ordered was not, well, a martini, as much as warm cough syrup in a glass. As the drink list is not long, this is a really important thing to get right. I hate to post this in a public forum, but couldn’t find a specific Zula wedsite.
I think it’s a really nice place, so I hope more attention goes into the mixology there, and soon. A reputation for good martinis will really draw folks in.

I too checked and didn’t find a website for them.
Thanks for the comment. I have not been yet but am happy to see that storefront finally being used again. Hopefully they’ll get the drinks on track soon.
