If you are looking for all the sparkly twinkle lights in Hartford, they are in Avery Court. The opening of the 37th Annual Festival of Trees & Traditions at the Wadsworth Atheneum quickly became an intimate affair; by intimate, I mean that museum patrons were standing shoulder-to-shoulder. Those with determination and guile were able to elbow their way to the nosh, which included piles of truffles that were practically spilling over.
DJ Jon Eastman set the mood early with a mix of classic and cheesy holiday (mostly Christmas) music, and later switched over to playing crowdpleasers like Madonna and Michael Jackson.
Down in Loctite Lobby, next to the Aetna Theater, tables were set up for hands-on arts and crafts: holiday t-shirt decorating.
The First Thursday event wound down with a screening of Love Actually.
