More than a year since the Superpedestrian LINK scooters left Hartford, their remains are still being discovered.
The bone bed is the south side of Hawthorn Street from Forest to Laurel, with a secondary site on the north side of Capitol Avenue, between Laurel and Woodbine Lot.
The ten scooters were immobile.
The circumstances of their sudden re-emergence a mystery.
One theory is that an attempted cleanup of the former Arrow Hart & Hegeman factory site between Hawthorn, Laurel, Forest, and Capitol yielded the remains of these mobility devices.
Almost nine months after the disappearance of LINK, another electric scooter, Veo, arrived in the city.
LINK scooters were a bright yellow-green color, sometimes with seats. Veo scooters are black and teal; any with seats have not yet been sighted in Hartford. Given the circumstances, it would’ve made more sense for the new scooters to be called Bird; alas, that name was already taken.
