Walking around in one’s own city should not be radical or weird or necessarily the topic of conversation; it should be normal.
Why isn’t it?
Why isn’t curiosity nurtured more widely?
What is behind that building? What is down that road? Do the people on the next street decorate their homes, their yards? Do those decorations change seasonally?
The map shows a green space but it has no name on it. What is there?
Where does the river go? What grows on its banks? What tracks are in the mud?
What does a trail I’ve walked dozens of times in one direction look like if I take it the other way?
What does the landscape look like when it has not been messed with? Do people have any idea what’s even in their backyards?
