Even those of us who pay attention to what’s around, overhead, and underfoot encounter things that we have passed hundreds of times and never noticed sooner.
If you know where this is/these are, leave a comment
These must be near the Old State House, right? That’s where Ms. Young, the first witch hanged in the colonies, at least is “believed” to have been hanged when it was the town square. Or am I getting my witch lynchings confused?
Plot twist: You’d think these bricks would be where the gallows were, but they aren’t. BUT their location is VERY relevant in a different way and I am very pleased to have finally noticed them.
Ooh, finally one I know! They’re at the Ancient Burying Ground! Right? (I only know this because I wrote a whole blog post about this period in history and hunted down there bricks😂)

Mazel tov! This is right near the Rev. Samuel Stone statue (to the north of Center Church) and here is why this is so relevant … http://www.realhartford.org/2020/05/08/statue-stories/
