The parking lot of Pope Park has been fenced off for the annual Coleman Bros. carnival, June 24-27, 2021. Some of the grass has been reserved, also, for workers’ trailers.
There will likely be no faux outrage of “the park is closed” variety on social media because people accept private enterprise, while rejecting pedestrian and public safety as reasons for requiring visitors’ vehicles to be stored outside park boundaries.
The entrance to the fun and games is in the usual spot, where Hillside Avenue and Park Terrace meet.
