After hearing the expression “forest bathing” more than twice and cringing each time, I looked up what was meant by it, and wondered if it would not be more accurate to call it “forest being.” It’s not hiking or exerting lots of energy– just being in the woods and enjoying it.
Keney Park is a fine place for this activity. Dawdling. Sauntering. Meandering. Stopping to stare up into the trees or across the thick patches of ferns. Listening to the birds.
Stay quiet enough, and you will see deer bound across your path.
And if you feel the need to be back around people, the cricket field is not far away. . . nor is The Tavern with its indoor plumbing.
