Those who do not diversify their sources of information are easily misled.
Here is what Hartford also looked like in the past week.

One of the great things about Hartford is that it is such a walkable city. Downtown Hartford was packed on Sat. afternoon. Droves of people of all ages were at/walking through Pratt St., and throughout the area from the river to Bushnell Park. (What else was going on?) I hope lots of people continue to support events throughout the city, throughout the summer.

I think everything that didn’t happen in the last 1.5 years was going on!
There seemed to be a scavenger hunt of some kind, plus two separate block parties, and I don’t know what else. I was just passing through, going from one errand to the next. And, there was some big golf thing at Keney Park. I’m not a fan of golf (for environmental reasons and it’s, to me, boring) and could not tell you exactly what it was, but it meant a larger than normal golf presence early on a Sunday morning.

It was also Open House Day around the city and state, and there was a graduation at the Yard Goats stadium in the afternoon. I saw a bunch of people dressed up in some kind of way, including young men walking about in monks’ robes, and women wearing highly stylized stick-on black mustaches and white facial hair a la Mark Twain.
(Also, agree with you about golf, esp. the environmental part. Such a waste of water.)
