If you haven’t been to Park and Park Terrace lately, you might not have noticed the new housing installed over the last year.
Unlike the housing project that replaced Westbrook Village, this one at least is (1) not encroaching on the Park River (mostly because this is where the river was entombed in concrete) and (2) creating housing where there was none previously. I know I’m not the only person who finds disturbing and short-sighted the practice of tearing down brick buildings (that could have been renovated) and replacing them with something less durable.
Back to Frog Hollow — what was previously on this corner? It was an eyesore of a building used as a church. It mostly sat empty. Before that, it was a more attractive church, which had been physically relocated once upon a time to be closer to where its visitors lived and worked.

I believe the building you refer to was originally the French Social Circle, a social club for the French Canadians who used to be a big part of the Frog Hollow population.
