This week’s installment features photos taken at and within a few hours of sunrise, on a Saturday in February. As always, this only shows a small fraction of the people actually out.
Besides opening up the stores, people were busy shoveling, chipping, and salting the snow and ice that had glazed sidewalks that morning. Those conditions did not deter people from walking down to the bakeries or waiting for the other small stores to open.
