One of the cards I received in December dropped a major hint.
Family from this area who moved to Florida more-or-less requested photos from the South End, so I took one for the team and went on a journey for pastry.
Okay, so they’re not all in the South End neighborhood, but all south of I-84.

In the top photo we see a sign for Brown St. At the bottom of the pole there is graffiti. I have seen that exact graffiti – spelled either vertically or horizontally – everywhere from New Britain to the middle of eastern Connecticut. There are some occasions when there is a fourth symbol. What does it mean?!?!

It says Veo, which means “I see” or “I’m watching” in Spanish. I don’t know if that’s why this person/people chose that has their tag, but there it is. And I don’t know who puts this up, surprisingly, since it is absolutely everywhere. I think the telephone pole in front of my house is tagged with it.

What does the graffiti mean when there is an ‘H’-like symbol appended? I’ve not only seen the graffiti spell ‘VEOH’, but there is an instance in New Britain where the cable/phone box on a telephone pole has it properly labelled with the same font as the rest of the printing on the box.

I’ve also seen it written ‘VO’. Since these would all be pronounced the same, my guess is that it’s just the person having fun with paint. Much like peeing their name into the snow. Nothing more, nothing less.
