Time to test your observation skills!
Find as many items as possible on this list. Don’t try taking pics from inside a car — that’s boring and the photos probably won’t be good. The first person to find the most objects wins!
HOW THIS WORKS
- Gather up what you need: charged phone/camera, notebook, pen, water, sunscreen/hat
- Go take a walk down streets in Hartford. Pics must be (1) from within city limits, and (2) not taken in any of the major parks (Bushnell, Colt, Goodwin, Keney, Pope, or Riverside).
- Find one item matching each clue
- Take a pic
- Note the address or coordinates of the object’s location (From years of doing the Place This Place series, I strongly advise writing down the location. Unless you have a spectacular memory, you’ll probably forget one or two by the time you get back home)
- By 6 AM on Monday, July 6, send me an email (realhartford@gmail.com) with all items and their locations or post them on Instagram and tag #CampRealHartford
YOUR CLUES
- In honor of Prince, find something very purple
- Something neighborly
- A lawn gnome is what makes a house a home
- Something with sharp edges
- What does love look like?
- VEO
- Something tropical
- Where can you find pride?
- A thing that spins, shakes, sways, or bounces
- The best signs are handmade, not bought
- A fake animal
- Something truly bizarre
- A delightful yard
- A statue, monument, or plaque
- Something neighborly
- 3-D art object (sculpture, found art)
- Painted art: mural, graffiti, etc.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
The winner(s) will get their names announced and they will get bragging rights.
Those who don’t win will still have their object photos added to a map of Hartford’s Delights (this is why listing the location is important!). By submitting pics, you are consenting to their being added to the map.
