This is what it looks like when projects have no maintenance plan.
The playground was developed in 2017. Others in the community have complained about the conditions here, for months, yet it’s still a mess. . . and the photo does not even show all the litter and bulky waste along the fence.
It’s not as if this lot is hidden from view. It happens to be directly across the street from Victory Cathedral on Bellevue between Pavillion and Battles.
Is it open? Is it closed? How does one enter?
This picture was taken on a 70° day in January, and nobody was using the playground.
Within a five minute walk (Windsor Street, between Warren and Loomis) is the Willie Ware Community Center, playground, and spray pool. At Main Street and Harriet Tubman Court — about the same distance — is the Harriet Tubman (previously St. Benedict) playground, a playscape that was renovated and then reopened in 2015 after it had been wrecked from a car crash in 2012. Those other two playscapes look inviting.
What is up with this?
