There is a banner at Park and Main. Near Winship Street, a full color flyer has been affixed to almost every telephone pole.
The Avon resident died last June in a double shooting; the other person shot — an East Hartford resident — survived.
Winship is a fairly typical street in the South End neighborhood. Not the “quietest,” but not standing out in any way as a street to avoid. There are a few basketball hoops. A pincho stand. The run-of-the-mill mattress blocking the sidewalk. Only now, a large memorial has been created near the corner of Gilman Street.
