Sunday is the final day for this year’s Open Studio Hartford — two weekends of live, local artists selling their work at venues citywide.
If you are arriving by CTfastrak or CTrail, then Union Station, ArtSpace Hartford, and Maurice Robertson Photo Arts will be the most convenient spots to visit in Downtown Hartford.
You can reach the Connecticut Historical Society by CTtransit, or by taking CTfastrak and walking five minutes.
Hartford Public Library, Conrad L. Mallett Gallery, Bill Healy Backyard Studio, Kamora’s Cultural Corner, and the Pratt Street venues — Jon Eastman and Hartford Prints! — are easy to access by CTtransit buses with reasonable frequency on a Sunday. Oak Hill Auditorium & Art Studio requires a slightly longer walk for those arriving by CTtransit, and as this is located in the Blue Hills neighborhood, there’s an incline.
A free shuttle van provides service to Oak Hill, Connecticut Historical Society, ArtSpace, Union station, and Pratt Street, so if you can get to one of those venues, you don’t have to wonder how you’re going to get across town on the city bus.
