Casimir Pulaski has a statue on Main Street near the pedestrian mall bearing his name. The poorly-designed traffic circle by Bushnell Park is named after him. And recently, Smithsonian produced a documentary investigating the possibility that the war hero was female or intersex.
All of that is to say that perhaps Hartford actually has a monument to a woman that does not force her to share the pedestal with children or a man.
