Chango Rosa will be celebrating its grand opening on Saturday, serving up “Latin comfort food” specials all day. You can see ARCY (pictured) in action, spray-painting murals.
If you’re trying to figure out where this is, we’ll help– Union Station across from Bushnell Park, in the location vacated by Hot Tomato’s a few months ago. Besides filling an empty storefront and bringing BBQ tacos to downtown Hartford, plants have been added to the patio, livening up the corner. The work done to this spot, inside and out, is bold, as anyone familiar with Jamie and Cheryl McDonald would expect.
Saturday’s grand opening is from 11 am – 11 pm.

I’m working on a Union Place Walking Tour, ready to go soon. You will be AMAHZED (as I was) about the history this street can provide! (And none of it is “Teddy Roosevelt got off the train here…”) Very glad to see this new business, and extraordinary mural. Question: what’s your favorite Union Place memory?
Evelyn
Favorite memory- back when Union Place was the UFO shop, Mad Murphy’s, the Kamala boutique, and lots of other unique shops and characters inhabiting them.

Yep! Like Wooden Ships, Picnic, the Workbench, Bushy’s Newstand, Shanti School and my personal favorite, Connecticut Lunch!
