Every October the Hartford Marathon, Marathon Relay, Half Marathon, and 5K take over the streets of Hartford and surrounding communities.
If you’re a runner, what this means (or so we’re told) is that there’s sweating, cramping, and carb-loading. For some, it’s a nipple-chafing morning.
For others, it means seeing lines out the door of your local coffee spots. It’s being able to walk and bike around much of the city without the normal stress of cars coming from every direction. Every year, more bicycles appear in the corrals set up in Bushnell Park. Even if you could not be bribed or threatened to enter a race, there are benefits.
If you are looking for the race results, go to the Hartford Marathon website.

Well, now, that’s quite a vehicle! ?
Completely agree about how great the low-stress biking is.

Yes to biking. Biked to and from the race- an absolute breeze. The traffic was crazy but we flew home. Also the official and unofficial musical entertainment was universally great!
