With Hartford’s Board of Education still a mix of elected and appointed members, several of the latter are likely to change in the near future.
The elected members — Michael Brescia, Robert Cotto, Jr., Craig Stallings, and Beth A. Taylor, Ph, D., — are two years into the current term. Appointed members currently serving include Rev. Dr. Shelley D. Best, Jose Colón-Rivas, Matthew K. Poland, Richard F. Wareing, and previously, former Mayor Segarra.
Mayor Bronin announced that he would be re-nominating Colón-Rivas and Wareing, as he also nominates Karen T. Taylor and Tiffany Fonseca Glanville. Taylor and Glanville are college-educated parents. Two of Glanville’s children attend West Middle; Taylor’s twins attend the University of Hartford Magnet School.
The resolution goes before City Council on February 8, 2016. The term would last until January 2020.
