There are a lot of contenders in this neighborhood, from Sargeant Street to Imlay to Atwood.
This one on Laurel Street stands out despite that chain link fence and vehicle parked in the front. The building itself is not shabby, which is something when so much of the city’s historical structures have been demolished or just let to die slow, blight-filled deaths. The slate roof and choice of color doesn’t hurt either.

Hey, that’s my house! Too bad you don’t like my husband’s van out front – we have no garage. As to the chain link fence, you try abutting South Marshall Street without one. Thanks for the shout out though.

Maybe a little sensitive?
Pablo
Have noticed that house many times! You got some nice light on it – must have been morning.

A little sensitive? Try to be a little bit more respectful about someone’s home. Your not critiquing an office block.
Kerri Provost
This was chosen as being the beautiful home for the week. Fuck me for giving a compliment.
Anne Brodsky
LOL. I thought the posts were supposed to be “respectful and civil”.

Did you forget that comments are supposed to be respectful and civil? You have managed to lose all credibility, Ms. Provost.

You all seriously need to lighten up. If you’ve read this for more than one week, you’d know the tone and you’d know when something is being criticized (See writing on the nonsense in City Hall). Are we really this bent out of shape because two things that are visible from the street were pointed out? Guess what? I have chain link fence too. Is that ideal? No. Not all of us have budgets that allow for awesome wrought iron fencing. But the chain link is in good shape and the yard is maintained, just as the house in this picture is.
Dudes, I didn’t say the place was in shambles. I said the house looked great. If you are seeking “excitement” and everything being amazing at all times with reality totally whitewashed, go elsewhere.
As for credibility, I’m not worried about complaints from people who have never participated before.
Anne Brodsky
Wrought iron fencing wouldn’t cut it on Laurel Street. A neighbor of mine woke up one day this summer to find that all the tires on the rental car parked in his driveway had been stolen.
