After sitting vacant for some time, following a few short-lived attempts at coffee shops and a bodega, 405 Capitol Avenue is being put back into use.
The mural that had been covered with graffiti for several years was removed and replaced with new art; in between, the brick work was fixed. During the days when La Paloma Sabanera filled the space, a heavy rainstorm meant that a small waterfall would form inside of the building because of various issues left unaddressed by the landlord.
In addition, there have been improvements made to the outdoor lighting. The front door has been replaced.
With carpentry equipment still inside, the restaurant/bar is not opening in the immediate future.

What a change in art taste. Debatable for sure. From highly charged connections to the people via art to extended pinkie fingers. Never ceases to amaze me.It should be very interesting to see what comes down the road.

Prohibition chic hits Hartford!!! Fingers crossed for low lighting and a vibe to keep the normals quotient down.
