Participation doubled since last year’s Walk for Farm Animals, a fundraiser for Farm Sanctuary. The two-mile loop began in Bushnell Park on Saturday morning.
Wendy Horowitz of New Haven was recognized pre-walk for raising the most money.
Farm Sanctuary operates three sanctuaries — Watkins Glen, NY; Orland, CA; and Los Angeles, CA — that provide homes for animals rescued from natural disasters, and from situations of abuse and neglect.
Before the walk, Toivo led participants in yoga. Children got their faces painted and had temporary tattoos applied. GypsyJo provided the entertainment post-walk.
