Officer Robert Iovanna recovered one of the missing Bantam Bikes last week at a pawn shop near Park and Washington.
Of the ten bicycles in Trinity College’s bike-share program, at least four have been stolen since it began a few years ago. Most of those have been recovered with help from college employees and the Hartford Police Department.
The distinctive color scheme of the bikes makes them easy to spot, but people should record serial numbers regardless of how unique their property appears because thieves can easily change the appearance of a bike with some spray paint.
Some, if not all, of these bike thefts could have been prevented by proper locking (and by people choosing not to steal).

You’d think those awful seats would be enough of a theft deterrent.
