After months of no apparent work happening, the chain-link fences have finally been removed, restoring north-south pedestrian access in and out of Bushnell Park near Union Station. For those with short memories, the construction project began late last year; sidewalks were impassable for all of the winter, despite little visible progress on the area. Work is still underway, but walking here feels less like trespassing in a construction zone now.

Trespassed my way up Trinity Street today from Jewell. It’s been nice to walk in the middle of the road under the Memorial Arch as a pedestrian this spring. At the same time, look forward to this crazy project for no understandable good reason to end.
And what’s going on with the pond in Bushnell Park? No fountains aerating the water; things are getting to look funkier than usual.
