Hartford Guides will be providing light roadside assistance citywide, thanks to a grant from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. The service will initially be available Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., but days and times might be adjusted to fit the demands for service.
If you need a jump start, they will provide it free-of-charge.
Other services include emergency refueling and tire re-inflation. If you lock your keys in the car, they will help with that. Those providing roadside assistance have been professionally trained. Call 860-462-0127 to reach the roadside assistance vehicle.
This service has been offered since 2000, though at that time it was only available in the central business district.

Weird. Curious why the nonprofit sees a benefit in acting like AAA.
Does the city announce stuff like this? I didn’t see it anywhere else.
Kerri Provost
The City hardly announces anything, Tony, unless it relates to the stadium or the mayor making statements on issues that are not related to Hartford.
I was in direct contact with Hartford Guides.

You could stop announcing stuff for a month or two, watch the City start to crumble and then propose an annual salary for the work you’re doing. I’ve considered a similar course of action.
Actually. Don’t do that. I’d have a really boring two months. Definitely not worth it.
Kerri Provost
I consider it every month, but I don’t use the word “excited” enough for the City of Hartford to pay me a dime for what I do.
