The original plan was to beautify a property at the corner of Liberty and Garden, but the Mutual Housing Leadership Academy participants have opted to spruce up Keney Park instead.
Anyone who wants to join in today should meet up near the Westbourne and Ridgefield entrance to the park.
Cesar Aleman, one of the Beautiful Blight leaders says this project’s goal is to “give neighborhood residents a way to take ownership of their neighborhoods and do something positive to turn blight into less of an eye sore while creating a sense of community, bringing people together.”

not pleased I missed this one.. I do hate litter.. Keney Park is the unknown and most misunderstood park in Hartford (perhaps in the entire nation).. a nice park..

As it turns out, they scrapped the litter clean up part of the plan anyway. I think you did more than your share by cleaning Colt Park in the pouring rain last week.

yes, the rain clean up was quite fun.. cleaning litter is quite fun actually.. productive for society.. and not a bad work out in the end. a lot of bending.. good for the back..
