The rain (mostly) held off on Saturday for Samba Fest at the Riverfront, and for the multiple other competing events around Hartford, including Re:Create CT in Elizabeth Park and a “Marijuana March” in Bushnell Park.
Samba Fest is a collaboration between Trinity College and Riverfront Recapture.
Samba Fest featured performances by the Trinity Steel Band, Hartford Steel Symphony, Nanny Assis, Ivan Vilela, Nation Beat, and the Trinity Samba Ensemble with Ginga Brasileira. Drum making and face painting were popular with the kids (and some adults).
