Ten students from the Academy of Engineering and Green Technology at Hartford High School were finally recognized by the City of Hartford for their role in the Nepal Wind Turbine Project.
We previously published a complaint aired last month about how the Board of Education and the Hartford Public Schools’ Director of Communications had done nothing in the way of giving props to these students.
At the beginning of Monday’s City Council meeting, on behalf of Mayor Segarra, Councilwoman Cynthia Jennings presented a proclamation declaring today the “Academy of Engineering and Green Technology Day.” Michael Maziarz, the school’s principal, and David Mangus, the students’ teacher, were also in attendance for the honor.
Councilwoman Jennings thanked Hyacinth Yennie for bringing this accomplishment to the attention of Mayor Segarra and City Council.
