Using social media to spread the news, Matt Poland announced on Monday that he would not be seeking another term as Chair of the Hartford Board of Education.
He says that in his time as chair he has “sought to bring civil discourse to this work.” In November, Poland promised an investigation of Capital Prep Magnet School’s principal Steve Perry following a series of outbursts by the principal on Twitter.
Poland says he will remain on the Board of Education. He also serves as CEO of the Hartford Public Library.
