If this week’s weather forecast makes you want to lock yourself in your air conditioned apartment, consider a few less antisocial options.
According to the City of Hartford the summer spray pools have been open since June 3rd and will remain so until September 2nd, from 10am until dusk. Spray pools can be found at the following locations:
- Day Park on Orange and Arbor Street
- Delucco Playground on Brook Street and Bedford Street
- Forster Heights on Harvard Street
- Goodwin Park on Maple Avenue and South Street

- Lozada Playground on East Street and Seym Street
- Pope Park North (AKA Baby Pope) on Putnam and Russ Street
- Sigourney Park on Sigourney Street
- South End Park on Franklin Avenue

The spray pools should be open except during inclement weather.
Indoor pools have a more restricted schedule.
The Parker Memorial Community Center Pool (2621 Main Street) and Pope Park Pool (30 Pope Park Drive) will be open from June 24-August 16th, from 10am-8pm.
The outdoor pools, open since June 11th, are scheduled to remain open through August 18th, from 10am-8pm on weekdays and noon until 6pm on weekends and holidays.

Do you know the little playground/spray pad area on Granby street? If so, know when that’ll be open? As of a couple days ago was blocked off (maybe still under construction)?

I have not seen anything about that space.

That park (Cronin) is still having some finishing touches applied for it. They’re shooting for a July 15th opening.

The Willie Ware sprays weren’t on when we stopped there Sunday afternoon

Thank you Kerri for putting this information out. Couldn’t find it anywhere else. The city website simply has a picture of the pool… with no useful info whatsoever.
Liaison South
You know you can call our office whenever there are any blanks you want filled in on any City-related services or programs! Since I know you already know how to get in touch with *your* Community Liaison, everyone else can call the Mayor’s front desk (860-757-9500), and you can get directed to your Liaison by your zip code. (Unless you call after July 5th, in which case you will be directed to Jeserika (757-9521) or Brittany (757-9523) based on who is available. If you want to reach me this week, I’m at 757-9562.)
If you prefer email, send a message to garcc004@hartford.gov, and Chastity can direct you to what you’re looking for, or the person that knows how to find it.
Stay cool everybody!
Jennifer
Thanks, Tianna!
