One street is already closed, with many others to join it on Saturday. The Hartford Police Department’s Traffic Division has released a full listing of all planned closures in Hartford and surrounding towns, along with detour and access routes. Bus routes will also be impacted.
Can’t Get There From Here: Hartford Marathon street closures

I now have to walk to work on Saturday but, at least I can watch the marathon while doing so.
Richard
UGH!! Here we go again. Workers can’t get to work, shoppers can’t get to the store to buy their groceries, gotta walk a mile or two to get a bus if the bus is running, all for what? A bunch of white folks from the suburbs in to running around our streets.Had to laugh this early morning when I spied a street sweeper sweeping and washing, scrubbing up Park Street. Guess the city doesn’t want any runners bringing home the city dirt to the suburbs. Heavens wouldn’t want anything from here to grow there. At least they say this year that some of the streets will be opened later in the day so REAL life can get back to being and this phony bull of running around, and street closing will fade away.
Oh, Johnny was fired today because he couldn’t get to work. No bus, no ride and far to far to walk. Guess his boss had his panties in a twist and didn’t care to hear his excuse.
Erik
It was barely an inconvenience and many local businesses benefitted from the marathon. It takes five minutes earlier in the week to plan an alternate way to get to work or to inform a boss of the situation.
Richard
Oh really Erik. Think outside your little box please.
Erik
Think outside my little box? That’s hilarious. I’m not dumping on a community event because of a slight inconvenience and the sweeping of streets.
Richard
One last one. Ha Ha Ha+Community event! By the looks of the community out in the pounding the pavement the event would have been more at home in West Hartford, Avon, or Glastonbury. I will admit that the powers that be did a much better job this year of returning the streets to OUR community so we could go about our daily event of living. Amen! I don’t know when was the last time I saw the streets around here swept and washed but we will leave that for another day.

Boys! Don’t make me come over there!
Richard
Yes sis, I am going to bed. Goodnight. Some get it some don’t and today I am not in a good mood.
