Starting at 9 in the morning, five centers will be open for people to use to cool off. They are scheduled to close at 8pm on July 17th and 18th:
- North End Senior Center, 80 Coventry Street
- South End Wellness Center, 830 Maple Avenue
- Parkville Senior Center, 11 New Park Avenue
- Hispanic Health Council, 175 Main Street
- Hispanic Senior Center, 45 Wadsworth Street
In addition to the cooling centers, four community pools will also be open for public use during the same hours as the cooling centers, but open swim will be from 1-5pm only. Proper attire must be worn and there are height requirements:
- Colt Park Pool (36 inch height requirement)
- Goodwin Park Pool (50 inch height requirement)
- Keney Park Pool (36 inch height requirement)
- Pope Park Pool (36 inch height requirement
There are spray pools (sprinklers) at the following locations:
- Day Park (Orange/Arbor Street)
- Delucco Playground (Brook/Bedford Streets)
- Forester Heights (Harvard Street)
- Goodwin Park (Maple Avenue/South Street)
- Keney Park (Woodland & Waverly Streets
- Lozada Playground (East Street/Seyms Streets)
- Pope Park North AKA Baby Pope (Putnam/Russ Streets)
- Sigourney Park (Sigourney Street)
- South End Park (Franklin Ave)
- Willie Ware Playground (Windsor Street)
The Hartford Public Library, also air-conditioned, will be open as a possible place to cool down

- Goodwin and Blue Hills: 12:30 to 7:30
