On Saturday afternoon, Hartford gained one more resident — at least temporarily.
A dinosaur was constructed on the corner of Columbus Boulevard and Grove Street. Well, almost. Its feet were put into storage for the evening, but it is hoped they will be reattached to the body shortly.
This installment doubles the number of large-scale dinosaurs in Downtown Hartford.
It is also a sneak preview for the Dinosaurs Unearthed exhibit that is being installed at the Connecticut Science Center.
The April 6th opening will be the East Coast debut for this traveling exhibit.
Inside the 7000 square foot exhibit there will be 14 animatronic dinosaurs.
The exhibit is being described as an immersive, sensory experience. This will include sounds, fossils, and a 45 foot tall Tyrannosaurus Rex.

I don’t know why, but I particularly enjoy that this doubles the number of large scale dinos in Hartford. It’s oddly…comforting…to know they’re not lonely.

And they are in really close walking distance to each other, you know, if they become somehow animated.

I want a pet dinosaur but, I don’t have the place to keep one. I propose we turn Hartford’s empty lots into dinosaur stabling facilities.
