Parents of Hartford Public School students will have until April 2, 2012 to respond to the acceptance letters slated to arrive next week. In the choice process, students may apply for up to four schools. Insiders say that the best way to increase one’s chances of acceptance to a school, she should only list those she is actually interested in attending; if there are only two schools the student is interested, the suggestion is that she apply for only those two schools.
To accept the placement, parents can return the form by mail or bring it directly to the Board of Education offices at 960 Main Street.
Those whose children are in a transitional year (elementary to middle or middle to high school) and applied between October 15th and January 31st are guaranteed placement of the student at one of the four schools they requested.
