That’s the lost station on the yellow line of the Hartford Metro. It was opened from October of 1904 until December of 1945, when the increased length of the Inter Hartford Rapid Transit cars rendered the tightly-curved platform obsolete.
The ground floor of Hartford City Hall does remind me of a subway station. It has a curved brick ceiling and marble walls in places…such as in the bathrooms. I’ve never noticed such lovely tilework there, however. Could it be?

It is a lot like a lost station and at times obsolete.
Congrats Heather! You won!
