Since Thursday, all of this and more has been happening in Hartford: Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, Patti Smith extravaganza, Creative Cocktail Hour at Real Art Ways, Hooker Day Parade, and the Discover Hartford Parks Tour. The annual bicycle and walking tour began in Bushnell Park and made stops in various city parks, including Colt, Goodwin, Pope, and Elizabeth.
In Goodwin Park, we saw workers installing the holiday light display. Acoustic guitar was heard in Elizabeth Park.
One part of the tour took riders under I-91 through tunnels that are usually fenced off in the South Meadows. This year, the police aided riders by blocking intersections in particularly dangerous areas, making the ride friendlier for new and inexperienced cyclists.

As readers of the beat bike blog know, those tunnels are open during business hours. If you live in Wethersfield and work 10-4, they make your commute trouble free.

Unless you have to work late, and then you’re stuck taking Wethersfield Ave the whole way.
