They should set it up so that something springs forth from the outstretched hand. Water and fire are my first two choices, but only because lightning bolts might be dangerous (but awesome!)
I know the cannons point to, allegedly, Wesleyan and Conn…I want to say that Mather is supposesd to be pointing towards, umm, Yale because Trinity was founded as a response to the religious oath Yalies had to take, but I may be remembering my tour guide history wrong with the direction he’s pointing.
I *so* want to hear the details of this event that may or may not have taken place years ago. How does one climb this statue? Is special equipment needed? You can just say, “when my friend climbed the creepy dude, she _____.” Totally anonymous.
I don’t think “my friend” made it particularly far. There may or may not have been alcohol involved at the time. Climbing and hanging stuff off the statue used to be traditions there. Somewhere exists a picture potentially. It’s a matter of determining where nondigital photos are located.

I know this one! Mather statue Trincoll quad. I may or may not have climbed him once.

That “I may or may not have climbed him once” didn’t get this marked as spam is a wonder!
You got it!
It is a creepy, creepy statue.

A yo-yo.
Chris
Not to diminish Karen’s official win, but the yo-yo idea has made you the number one respondent in my book today.
Damian
Thanks brotha’, I feel smug!

I thought the hand was a sign of “you must be this tall to ride.”

He has his back turned to Brownell Ave.

Also, it probably didn’t get spammified because I didn’t use the word “rode”…that woulda sent me straight to spam.
