As I see it, having this right next to the parking lot is what detracts from the fountain. This probably won’t be a popular opinion, but my vote would be to remove some parking and driveway and return those areas to nature.
As long as they don’t sillize anymore of the park with the likes of the brick work nonsense that they have created along the North side of the park just past Laurel. What a hot box area they have have made for those of us who wait for the bus.
It’s going to be fun watching this winter when there is snow all around and folks try to get through the traffic calming area. Watched an ambulance trying to get through yesterday to the shooting up the hill. Sometime pretty doesn’t work. Well, of course when most of those who come around and pretty up the place work for the city and don’t even live here. But at least we saved the Ginko tree.

Brendan

Damian
would a monocle suffice?
Nancy Macy
Watch for a public discussion about if the fountain should be moved and if so, where?

Perhaps Ms. Macy could fill us in as to why anyone would want to move the fountain?
