I began this series about a year ago to spotlight nice homes around the city. This is the last weekly installment of this, though I will have some sporadic posts in the future when inspiration strikes.
Except for a week here or there when I needed to allot more time to my professional work, I found a subject every week. Initially, I planned to avoid certain streets or neighborhoods because it seemed just too easy or predictable; this turned into a much longer challenge. I was able to go without capturing the beautiful homes in Asylum Hill or along two of the wealthiest streets in Hartford. I’ll get to these eventually, but I think I proved what I wanted to. I also did very little with the South End, Behind the Rocks, and Barry Square — mainly because there is nothing that brings me to those areas regularly.
The hardest part of this series was dealing with the way people make their homes ugly by having air conditioners up long past their need, or by having cars parked in front of the house.
