“Wait,” you ask, “isn’t this game just for Mondays?”
It would be, except yesterday’s game was a wash thanks to someone guessing correctly right away. People, don’t have buyer’s remorse! Think long and hard. “Do I really want to click ‘reply’ on a potentially valid answer and risk ending the fun at 8 in the morning, or do I want to give people many fleeting moments of joy throughout their work (or workless) days?” That’s a question only you can answer.
So, where was this photo taken?
Chris
I know, but I won’t spoil the fun…
Oar will I?

Are they oars or paddles? Do any seamen read this blog who could fill us in?
Jane
I have to assume it’s the boathouse?! 🙂
If they are for crew they are oars. That’s where my expertise ends…
Kerri Provost
Are we sure it’s not the yacht club?
Jane
The Yacht Club isn’t in Hartford, so I’m sticking with my original guess, wrong though it may be!
Plus the color of the walls seems right. Don’t remember this particular decoration but haven’t been there in ages.
Kerri Provost
Yes, the boathouse.
Jennifer S
riverfront recapture boathouse?
Kerri Provost
Yes, you are correct.
EmGee
Those are sculling oars. Definitely the boathouse.
Kerri Provost
I was going to question how you knew that, but then remembered that you have octopus (octopi?) plates.
EmGee
I was a rower. Has nothing to do with my octopus obsession. 🙂
Kerri Provost
Definitely.
Damian
I regret nothing! It’s Batterson Park!
Sorry ladies. Don’t hate the playa. Coz the playa’s the beach!
Kerri Provost
Does Hartford still own that or did we sell it to New Britain for pennies?
Damian
We still own it. Last I heard hiking trails were being cleared and/or blazed.
This article mentions it; it also quotes the mayor using ‘staycation’ without shame:
