I will be unspeakably disappointed if Connecticut Museum Quest‘s Steve does not guess this first. I suppose you can go look on his website for clues as to what this is, but given the volumes of material there, it may take you days.

I don’t like for anyone to be disappointed, but I do share ctmuseumquest Steve’s son’s name, so I’ll just say I’ve seen this religious carving in Colt Park along Wawarme.
Bonus fact: Wawarme used to be a dyke back when the CT River flowed that way. The olde map can be viewed at the Wethersfield Cove Warehouse…!
Kerri Provost
Yep. Do you know what the religious carving is related to in Colt Park?
Damian
It’s part of the slowly expanding shrine dedicated to a vision of the Blessed Virgin Mary which took place in ’99. The locust tree in which the vision was seen is a few feet west of the carving.
Kerri
That’s a very formal response. I would’ve settled for Virgin Mary Shrine Sprawl.
Brendan
It’s the Virgin Mary shrine (Our Lady of Hartford) or the remnants of it, because it caught fire in 2008. It’s in Colt Park on Warwarme.
Steve
I feel like a failure. But props to Damian for his name and his knowledge.
Kerri Provost
As well you should 🙂
I’m guessing you knew but didn’t see this until everyone chimed in already.
Damian
Thank you for the props. And thanks for the satisfyingly thorough lists of museums and interesting places on ctmuseumquest.
This is an auspicious start to 24 hours of gloat. 🙂
Kerri Provost
Just don’t confuse “gloat” with “bloat.” I hear the latter is painful.
Damian
Nearly halfway through this allotment of smug euphoria now and I do feel some bloat. Think I’ll soak my feet and just rest on my laurels.
