These first seven photos were taken at the Wadsworth Atheneum’s Phoenix Art After Hours. The Festival of Trees & Traditions will be on display until Sunday, December 14th.
The next three photos were taken on Constitution Plaza right after it rained. The new LED lights were a visible improvement.

Agreed, the LED lights are a major improvement this year. I also love what Phoenix did on the plaza level floor of the boat building — great trees, giant ornaments, and wonderful old “Hartford during the Holidays” pictures.

Sweet photos, Kerri. I have to of course point out that while the WALL-E tree is one of my personal favorites, I also like the Arvore des Artes (5th photo from the top) which is a ‘Christmas tree’ made up of panels of art by Wadsworth Atheneum staff. Mine is included in there, naturally, but those by my coworkers are all very impressive and I recommend people come visit and see all of them.

Citizenmira,
I went to the Festival of Trees years ago (maybe 10?) and wasn’t impressed at all. This was my first time back since then and I loved it. Either it was more creative or I’ve gotten embarrassingly nostalgic. There’s a whole room filled with lit trees, but I didn’t dare snap photos in there because artwork was up and I fear the Wadsworth security. There are so many trees that I didn’t get photos of either because people kept walking in front of me or they came out blurry. It’s totally worth checking out. It’s kind of a shame, though, that they were serving wine last night. It would have been more appropriate to have hot cocoa and eggnog. Again, that’s just my nostalgia talking.
