Cranksgiving, a scavenger hunt and food drive by bicycle, raised almost $1500 in cash and collected $1400 worth of food for the Grace Episcopal Church Food Pantry.
There were approximately 70 cyclists, with the kids’ ride growing from 10 to 17 riders this year. While the children stayed on the Trinity College campus to race and haul grocery items to the finish line, the adults’ ride covered 20-25 miles of terrain, requiring riders to stop at shops, like Cosmos International, in nearby towns.
Over 20 volunteers helped, between organizing, registering riders, and more.
Saturday’s alleycat was its fourth in Hartford. Cranksgiving was founded in 1999 in New York City.
