As it turns out, wearable civic pride does nothing to guarantee a nomination, let alone an endorsement.

Above, people read copies of The Hartford News, which recently devoted several pages to candidate profiles. To date, this newspaper provides the most inclusive listing of candidates from all political parties.
There were many small group negotiations conversations.
In the above photo, you can see Kelvin Roldán in the center. This conversation was one of many happening during roll call. Below: Shawn Wooden.
Below: A bit of chaos during yet another break; the only task at hand was to tally the numbers.
It was after this break that Wooden gained momentum.
